I’m Taylor, a freelance bookkeeper based in Des Moines, IA. I love helping others make sense of their finances - personal or business!

I got passionate about bookkeeping 10 years ago. I had gotten myself into a scary amount of debt, so I read a Dave Ramsey book and became obsessed with tracking my own funds. I started following YouTube accounts that discussed weekly budgets and tips for saving on monthly household expenses. I listened to podcasts about money and read more books on the subject. I built a system that worked for me, changed jobs, paid off debt, and saved money. It took a few years! I learned something about myself - I love learning and talking about money.

In 2024, I got the wild idea that I could help others track their finances too. I mentioned it to a friend who knew of a small business that could use my help, and I officially started freelancing in June 2024. There are multiple cloud-based accounting systems out there now. I am currently certified by QuickBooks, but would love to work with other software options in the future.
